The mission of The New America School is to empower new immigrants, English language learners, and academically underserved students with the educational tools and support they need to maximize their potential, succeed and live the American dream.
The New America School-New Mexico (NAS-NM) is a public charter high school dedicated to serving a unique population - recent immigrants, their families and children who want to learn or perfect English and earn a high school diploma.
We are a fully accredited, publicly funded institution. Our highly qualified staff provides intensive English language instruction and a rigorous academic curriculum to help students fulfill their dream of a better future.
At The New America School we believe educational opportunity is a cornerstone of American life and that English language skills are an essential component. NAS-NM was created to serve English language learners and un-enrolled students who might lack the English skills to succeed in mainstream high schools.

Do You Accept the Challenge?
On November 14th, NAS-NM accepted Rachel's Challenge, and became participants in one of the most life-changing school programs in America today. Founded by the family and frineds of Rachel Scott, the first student to die during the terrible events at Columbine high school in Colorado, the program focuses on ways to, inspire, equip and empower every person to create a permanent positive culture change in their school, business and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion. It was an amazing event, with students fully involved in building a better school and a more compassionate community fro themselves and their families. Following that presentation, student have formed a "Friends of Rachel" club, which meets weekly to discuss how we can create a kinder, better world. For more information about Rachel's Challenge, please see www.Rachelschallenge.org. We accepted the Challenge!
